Outsourced Govt. Hostel employees stage protest for salaries, jobs

Mysore/Mysuru: Outsourced employees of hostels coming under various Government Departments, urging for fulfilment of their various demands, staged a protest near the Office of the Deputy Commissioner (DC) here this morning.

About 30 outsourced employees (security personnel and cooks), under the banner Karnataka Rajya Samyukta Vasatinilaya Karmikara Sangha, Mysuru District Committee and affiliated to All India United Trade Union Centre (AIUTUC), staged a protest seeking pending salaries apart from the salaries during the lockdown period and jobs to them and urged to give them their documents pertaining to Provident Fund (PF) and Employees’ State Insurance (ESI).

AIUTUC District Secretary Chandrashekar Meti, who spoke, said that though the Government had ordered payment of salaries for April and May, only a few Departments had paid the salaries while some Departments are yet to pay. He also demanded salaries be paid just like being paid to other Government employees and added that there were more than 2,000 outsourced employees in the district.

District Secretary Muddukrishna, Lokesh, Mahadevamma, Vijaykumar, Sunandamma, Rekha, Seemavathi, Pavithra and others took part in the protest.
