Over 20 passengers injured as bus topples after hitting road divider

Nanjangud: Over 20 passengers sustained injuries when a Kerala bus hit a road divider and toppled on the road near Nanjangud in the wee hours of today.

It is learnt that the bus, which was proceeding from Kerala towards Mysuru, hit the road divider at Hosahalli Gate near Nanjangud and toppled, resulting in traffic on the busy road being disrupted. Luckily, no loss of lives was reported and the injured passengers have been shifted to hospitals in Nanjangud and Mysuru. One of the injured passengers is said to be critical.

Nanjangud Circle Inspector Lakshmikanth Talawar, Traffic Sub-Inspector Lohith, Assistant Sub-Inspector Nagaraj and staff visited the spot, summoned a crane and cleared the bus from the road for smooth flow of traffic.

A case has been registered at Nanjangud Traffic Police Station in this regard.
