Padayatra marks Quit India Movement

Mysore/Mysuru: Marking Quit India Movement Day and 75th year of Independence, the Congress on Tuesday took out a padayatra in Chamaraja Assembly segment.

The padayatra, which began from the Congress Office near the City Railway Station, passed through the main streets of the city and culminated at the Freedom Fighters Park in Subbarayanakere.

Former MLA Vasu, City Congress President R. Murthy, leaders K. Harish Gowda, M. Shivanna and others took part. Party workers raised slogans hailing Bharatambe and recalled the role of Congress in Quit India Movement and other freedom struggles.
