Panchamasali Seers set Apr. 21 deadline to announce reservation

Bengaluru: With the State Government yet to take a decision on announcing Category-2A reservation for Panchamasali Lingayat sect as promised, the Seers of the community have set Apr. 21 as the ultimate deadline for the Government to concede their demand.

Addressing a press meet here yesterday, Kudalasangama Panchamasali Peetha Seer Sri Basavajaya Mrutyunjaya Swamiji said that the Government has been set the ultimate deadline of Apr. 21 to announce Category 2A reservation for Panchamasali Lingayat community, which is backward in many respects.

Pointing out that the Government has been given many deadlines in the past for announcing the reservation, he reiterated that Apr. 21 will be the ultimate deadline, following which the community will launch an indefinite stir at Kudalasangama in Bagalkote district until the demand is met.

Maintaining that it is a do or die battle for the community in respect of fight for reservation, he warned that the Government will alone be held responsible if something untoward happens during the indefinite stir that will commence soon after the deadline ends.
