Part time job: Student cheated of Rs. 3.28 lakh

Mysore/Mysuru: Miscreants have cheated a girl student to the tune of Rs. 3.28 lakh in the guise of providing part time work.

The student, who has been cheated, is 18-year-old Mythri, a resident of Kesare 2nd Stage.

A message along with a link pertaining to availability of part time jobs was sent to the mobile phone of Mythri, who clicked the link. She was then instructed to recharge for Rs. 100 and purchase certain items and later, the miscreants got a total of Rs. 3.38 lakh transferred from her Bank account in phases, thus cheating her. 

A case has been registered at city’s Cyber, Economic and Narcotics (CEN) Crime Police Station.
