Maddur: Even as the farmer protests demanding release of water to all Cauvery canals and total farm loan waiver, entered the 21st day today, the Maddur bandh called by Kasturi Karnataka Janapara Vedike, farmers and Kannada Organisations, evoked only partial response in the town this morning. Although most shops and commercial establishments were closed on account of bandh, Government offices, Banks, petrol bunks etc., remained open.
Essential services were not affected and traffic on the busy Mysuru-Bengaluru Highway passing through the town was normal.
A large number of Police Personnel were deployed at key points in the town.
