Party-jumping: Residents seek resignation of Mayor Bhagyavathi

February 5, 2018

Mysuru: Alleging that Mayor Bhagyavathi had jumped the party and migrated to JD(S) for money and power thus betraying Congress, members of Citizens Welfare Committee of Gangothri Layout staged a protest in front of Bhagyavathi’s house in the layout yesterday.

The members urged Bhagyavathi to submit the resignation on moral grounds. They contended that good governance could not be expected from such party-jumpers for greed. They opined that such an act by the Mayor was anti-democratic. They warned to aggravate the protest if Bhagyavathi refused to tender resignation soon. Over 50 residents participated in the protest.
