Mysore/Mysuru: The City Crime Branch (CCB) Police have arrested Srihari Pathak, Managing Director (MD) of the city’s well-known Pathak Developers (P) Ltd., on charges of cheating flat buyers.
He has been accused of collecting money from many flat buyers and failing to deliver the flats as per the agreement signed. Srihari Pathak remained absconding for several months and cases have been booked against him at many Courts in Mysuru and customers even approached the Consumer Redressal Forum.
He was arrested by the V.V. Puram Police in 2019 and had come out on bail. After that he was absconding and he failed to attend Court hearings. Over 17 arrest warrants had been issued against him.
Following this, the Court had directed the Police to arrest Srihari Pathak and produce him before it in a cheating case registered against him at V.V. Puram Police Station. The CCB and Narasimharaja ACP constituted a team to arrest Srihari Pathak and the team managed to trace him to Andheri in Mumbai and arrested him on Nov. 3.
Several people had approached the Police against Srihari Pathak and they have alleged that they have been cheated of crores of rupees, their hard-earned money. Pathak promised delivery of flats on time at the time of booking and advance payment but reneged later. More than 40 cases have been booked against him.
