Patriotic fervour marks 75th Independence Day

Mysuru District Chemists and Druggists Association celebrated I-Day by wearing camouflaged shirts in honour of Indian Army. Raghavan of Raghulal and Co., Association President Manjunath and others were present on the occasion.

Youth Hostels: Youth Hostel, Mysuru, Government of India, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of Karnataka, Department of Youth Empowerment and Sports, celebrated 75th Independence Day at Youth Hostel premises in Gangothri Layout, Saraswathipuram. The National Flag was hoisted by Dr. Prasad, Manager, Youth Hostel.

Sanjeev Hiremath of Dharwad and T. Jagadeesh, Research Scholar, University of Mysore, were the chief guests.

Later, mono acting on freedom fighter Hechchemma Nayaka was staged by Puneethkumar from T. Narasipur and patriotic song was rendered by Mrs. Hiremath. Sharathkumar R. Desai from Uttara Kannada rendered invocation and also proposed a vote of thanks. Hostel inmates and staff members took part.

Independence Day was celebrated at International Youth Hostel in Gokulam also. Picture shows YHAI Mysuru Unit President Jayaram, Chairman Ravikumar, office-bearers Varun Karthik, Arun Kumar, Lakshman, Santhosh and others after unfurling the Tricolour.

RUDSET Institute: H.S. Krishnamurthy, Social Activist, hoisted the National Flag at RUDSET Institute premises in Mysuru. K.N. Ananda Nayaka, Director, RUDSETI, presided. The trainees of Dairy Farming and Vermicompost-Making were distributed the certificates on this occasion. Geetha Madesh, Madesh, Ananatharam and RUDSETI staff were present during the celebrations.

MUDA: Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) Chairman H.V. Rajeev hoisted the National Flag at MUDA premises to mark the 75th Independence Day celebrations on Sunday in the presence of MUDA Commissioner Dr. D.B. Natesh and other officers.

Bharatiya Jain Sanghatan (BJS), Mysuru, celebrated I-Day by hoisting flag at Mysore Pinjrapole Society Unit-2 in Udbur. The BJS members also celebrated the 67th birthday of Sri Shantilal Muttha, Founder of BJS, by planting 67 saplings and donating Rs. 67,000 to Pinjrapole Society. The tree plantation programme was sponsored by Vimal Kumar and Arun Kumar (Bafna family).

Sumatilal Pagaria, President, Pinjrapole Society, Vinod Khabia, Secretary, Madanlal Maru and Puranmal Lodha, Unit-2 In-charge were present.

Vimal Pitliya, President, BJS Mysuru, Nisha Ramsina, Secretary, Ashok Salecha, Advisor, Jay Salecha, Vice-President, Prakash Gulecha, Regional President, Sukhraj Vinayakiya, Regional Secretary, Rajan Baghmar, Treasurer, Manohar Sankhla, Surender Chouhan, Dr. Vikram Jain, CA Vikas Chouhan, Sangeeta Gulecha were present. Youth wing members Dhruv Rathod, Dikshit Bhandari, Harshit Jain, Nishil Singhvi, Nikhil Vohra, Bhavesh Vohra, Abhishek Gulecha, Manav Gulecha, Shivani Bhandari, Aarti Bhansali, Priyanka Gulecha, attended the event.

Central Workshop, South Western Railway, Mysuru, celebrated 75th Independence Day at Railway Workshop Sports Ground, Ashokapuram. Chief guest O.P. Shaw, Chief Workshop Manager, Central Workshop, unfurled the National Flag and inspected the parade and march-past.

Speaking on the occasion, he said that the Central Workshop was a role model for other Railway workshop in its different spheres of working. Safety at workplace and safety of rolling stock maintenance was the primary focus all the time.

Wheels and trolleys were supplied to the Division uninterruptedly to ensure smooth train operation for essential commodities during the pandemic period, he said. Paying tribute to the employees who lost their lives to COVID, he ensured vaccination for all Railway workshop employees.

The Chief Workshop Manager also inaugurated the Stage for Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav at the Park situated in the Workshop premises. Cultural programmes were conducted and awards given to employees for meritorious work.

Pragathi Vidya Kendra and Pragathi Elite Public School jointly celebrated the 75th Independence Day on Sunday. The ceremony started with the unfurling of the National Flag by the chief guest, retd. DYPC Shivakumar in the presence of Pragathi Institutions Chairman Venkatesh and others.
