Pave the footpath for pedestrians

October 19, 2020

Sir,

I shifted to Mysuru two years ago as it was considered a clean and healthy city. I go on my morning walk daily on Lalitha Mahal Helipad Road but of late, I am unable to walk as vehicles zoom past in breakneck speed.

I am witness to 4 or 5 accidents at the junction after the U-turn towards Helipad Road. Also, there is no footpath on both sides of road leading to Helipad and towards JC Road.

The footpaths are heavily covered with thorny bushes and parthenium weeds (see pics).

As a result, we walkers, most of them senior citizens, are at risk to be hit by moving vehicles.

After I witnessed another accident yesterday morning, I contacted the area Corporator who has agreed to pave the footpath for the pedestrians.
