Pedestrian killed as car hits

Mysuru – A pedestrian, who was crossing the road was killed when a Fiat car ran over him on Bengaluru-Nilgiri Road near Hardinge Circle here yesterday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Venkategowda (50), a resident of Beedanahalli village in T. Narasipur taluk. He was crossing the road near Dasara Exhibition Grounds when the car (KA-09-M-5004) coming from Hardinge Circle side rammed into him at about 10 am resulting in him sustaining severe head injuries.

Though passersby rushed him to K.R. Hospital with the help of auto drivers, he was declared brought dead by the doctors.

Devaraja Traffic Police Inspector Srinivas and staff, who visited the spot, conducted mahazar, seized the car and have registered a case.
