Pejawar Seer undertakes padayatra in Manjunathapura

September 14, 2019

Mysuru: “My long drawn wish is that Dalits should come to the main stream of society and live like others without any inferiority complex or stigma attached,” disclosed Pejawar Seer Sri Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji.

The Swamiji was speaking after participating in a ‘Samarasya Padayatra’ organised by Veeranjaneyaswamy Samskrutika Trust at Manjunathapura here recently.

The Swamiji recalled that he had undertaken a harmony walk in two or three Dalit Colonies in Mysuru out of sheer love and compassion. He said that a sense of equality should set in among all communities in society without singling out anyone. He sought an end to treating Dalits as a separate entity, for which several special efforts are being put in. He assured to pray for the welfare of the Dalits.

Grand Welcome: The Swamiji was accorded a grand welcome by residents of Manjunathapura on his arrival. Women and children presented a ‘Poorna Kumbaha’ welcome and showered flower petals. He was offered a Tulsi garland and ‘Padapuja’ was performed.

The Swamiji preferred to stay neutral regarding the arrest of former Minister D.K. Shivakumar (DKS) by the Enforcement Directorate.

Regarding the participation of a few Mutt heads in the protest held in Bengaluru recently supporting DKS, the Swamiji said that those participating Swamijis could have felt that DKS was innocent and hence they voiced support.

However, he refused to comment on the subject and reiterated to stay neutral.

The Swamiji later inaugurated the Veeranjaneyaswamy Samskruthika mattu Shaikshanika Seva Trust. Sri Yukteshanandaji and Sri Shivakanthanandaji of Sri Ramakrishna Ashrama and others were present.
