Pending power bill: Two CESC staff assaulted

Mysore/Mysuru: A power consumer allegedly abused and assaulted two staff of Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation (CESC) Ltd., who asked him to clear the pending electricity bill.

The incident took place in Kalyangiri Nagar on Friday afternoon and the CESC staff who were assaulted are Junior Power Man Manjunath and Temporary Gangman Nandeesh.

On Friday afternoon, Manjunath and Nandeesh went to the house of one Rashid in Kalyangiri and asked him to pay the pending bill amount of Rs. 4,509.

Irked over this, Rashid allegedly abused Manjunath using foul language and assaulted him. When Nandeesh was recording the incident on his mobile phone, Rashid assaulted him too and threatened the duo of dire consequence, if they showed up again.

Udayagiri Police, who have registered a case, are investigating.
