Karnataka State Government Retired Employees Association President B.R. Umakanth has said that the Association is organising a function at Veene Seshanna Bhavana in Kuvempunagar here on Dec. 17 to celebrate Pensioners Day.

Speaking to the media at Pathrakartara Bhavan in the city, he said that an awareness programme by the Heads of District Treasury and Income Tax Department is also slated to be held on that day. The new calendar for the year 2025 will be released and senior-most citizens will be felicitated.

Also, Ayushman Health Cards will be distributed to citizens who have completed 70 years of age, said Umakanth and appealed the eligible pensioners to bring their Aadhaar Card and Aadhaar-linked mobile phones.

On Dec. 29 at 11 am, the Association will be conducting a free health check-up camp along with the Heart Organisation Institute at Ramakrishna Vidya Mandira in city. Senior citizens and pensioners may make use of this opportunity.

Association General Secretary C. Chikkalingaswamy, Asst. Secretary Nagesh, Director Krishnashetty, Shankar and Srinivas were present.
