Performing Arts Natl. Conference and Classical Dance Fest begins

Mysore/Mysuru: “Our ancient Saints, Rushis and Munis have sowed the seeds of modern development centuries ago and now technological innovations are being made based on this,” said Suttur Seer Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji.

He was speaking at the inaugural of the 2-day 3rd Performing Arts National Conference and Classical Dance Festival -2025, organised jointly by Bharatha Nritya Sangeetha Academy, Bengaluru, KSGH Music & Performing Arts University and Noopura Kalavidaru Samskritka Trust, Mysuru, at Music University premises here this morning.

Pointing out that India’s rich heritage, culture and traditions have gained much global recognition, the Swamiji said that foreigners are more keen on studying our ancient culture and performing arts, which goes to show the importance of our rich traditions and practises.

“Kannada is a very old and  beautiful, sweet and poetic language. It is significant to note that Kannada exists in all forms of the country’s arts and culture. As such, it is the responsibility of everyone to ensure that the rich legacy of  arts, literature, epics and the like in Kannada is carried forward for generations to come,” the Seer noted.

Earlier, Danseuse Dr. Vasundhara Doraswamy inaugurated the event. Music University VC Dr. Nagesh V. Bettakote, Registrar Dr. M.G. Manjunath, Prof. K. Ramamurthy Rao and Dr. Tulasi Ramachandra were present.
