Petrol Bunks in city to remain closed on Oct. 13

October 9, 2017

Mysuru: There will be no supply of petrol or diesel in city on Oct. 13 (Friday) as the dealers in the city have decided to shut their operations for the day in support of the nation-wide bandh called by the United Petroleum Front (UPF).

The UPF has called for the bandh demanding for fulfilment of their various demands including better margin and inclusion of petroleum products under the Goods and Services Tax (GST).

The dealers have also warned of intensifying the protest by closing the bunks indefinitely from Oct. 27. Around 54,000 dealers belonging to All-India Petroleum Traders, the All-India Petroleum Dealers Association and the Consortium of Indian Petroleum Dealers will be going on strike.

They also demanded for upward revision on the dealer margin every six months, resolution of labour issues among others. The dealers have strongly opposed the daily price mechanism.
