Dalit organisations to observe Mysuru bandh on Nov. 22
Mysuru: Members of the Federation of Mysore Petroleum Traders (FMPT) and Ambedkar Sene staged separate protests in city recently.
The members of FMPT alleging unscientific rules by the oil companies which has put them into a lot of hardship, staged a hunger strike in front of DC office here on Nov. 18.
They alleged that the oil companies were imposing unscientific guidelines for sale of fuels, no human interference during sales and the dealers paying fines for technical glitches.
President of Karnataka Petroleum Federation Basavegowda, FMPT President Shashikala Nagaraj, Ranjith Hegde, dealers S.R. Patil, Lokesh and others took part in the hunger strike.
Protest against former MLC
Members of Ambedkar Sene, Mysuru District Branch, demanding exile of former MLC G. Madhusudan and suspension of officers involved in the misuse of funds of SCP and TSP projects, staged a protest in front of DC office here on Saturday.
They condemned Madhusudan’s alleged remarks while speaking to a TV channel, against the Constitution, thus humiliating Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and the Constitution. The protestors demanded a case be registered against Madhusudan.
Dalit organisations to observe Mysuru bandh on Nov. 22: Condemning the statement of former MLC G. Madhusudan, various dalit organisations have warned of observing Mysuru bandh on Nov. 22.
Speaking to mediapersons here recently, Jnanaprakash Swamiji of Urilinga Peddi Mutt said that if the Police do not file an FIR against Madhusudan in a couple of days, we would observe Mysuru bandh on Nov. 22.
The Swamiji also said that various associations including Lorry Owners Association, Karnataka Dalita Vedike and other organisations would support the bandh call and added that a silent protest rally would be taken out on important roads in city on that day.
