Mysuru: People for Animals (PFA) Mysore, in collaboration with World Veterinary Services (WVS), Ooty, conducted a free biannual health check-up camp for horses in Mysuru and Srirangapatna on May 6 and 7.
In Mysuru, about 39 horses were vaccinated and dewormed under the supervision of the PFA Mysore and WVS teams. The health checks were conducted across several stables, including the Sub-Urban Bus Stand, Agrahara, Nanjumalige, RMC and Kukkarahalli Lake areas.
On May 7, the camp continued in Srirangapatna, where around 35 horses received similar care near the Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple, Gumbaz area and Nimishamba Temple. In addition to vaccinations and deworming, health assessments included hoof trimming, teeth rasping, treatment for lameness and tetanus vaccinations. Horse owners were also provided with free nutritional supplement packets for their animals.
The WVS team comprised Dr. Shivani Jain and farrier Sam, while the PFA team included Dr. Amardeep Singh along with members Murthy and Savitha Nagabhushan.
