Mysore/Mysuru: The following faculty of JSS Dental College and Hospital, Mysuru,  have been  awarded Ph.D. in Dentistry at the 11th Convocation of JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research (JSS AHER) recently.

Dr. S. Meenakshi, Senior Lecturer, Department of Prostho-dontics Crown & Bridge was awarded Ph.D for her thesis titled “Development and Evaluation of Polyherbal formulation for antifungal activity in Geriatric Denture wearers.” She  was guided by Dr. Anil Kumar Gujjari, Professor and former Dean, Prosthodontics, JSS Dental College and Dr. D.V. Gowda, Professor and Head, Department of Pharmaceutics, JSS College of Pharmacy, Mysuru.

Dr. S. Prashanth, Reader, Department of Paediatric and Preventive Dentistry, was awarded Ph.D for his thesis titled “Histomorphometric changes in the dental pulp of deciduous teeth during different stages of resorption” under the guidance of Dr. B Nandlal, Professor and HoD, Paediatric and Preventive Dentistry, JSS Dental College.

Dr. S.N. Chandan, Reader, Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery,  completed his Ph.D thesis titled “Inferior alveolar nerve dysfunction in mandibular fractures and its effect on quality of life” under the guidance of Dr.Sujeeth Kumar Shetty, Professor, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, JSS Dental College. Dr. Nagabhushana Doggalli, Reader, Department of Oral Medicine & Radiology, got Ph.D for his thesis “Estimation of age among Mysore population using demirjian’s technique on right lower mandibular teeth.” He was guided by Dr. B.M. Balaraj, Professor, Community Medicine, JSS Medical College.
