Mysore/Mysuru: JSS College of Pharmacy, Mysuru, has organised 25th Annual National Convention of Association of Pharmaceutical Teachers of India (APTI) from Sept. 2 to 4 at JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research, Mysuru, (JSS AHER) premises in city.
Disclosing this at a press meet held at Patrakartra Bhavan here on Saturday, JSS College of Pharmacy Principal Dr. T.M Pramodh Kumar said that the theme of the National Convention is ‘Empowering Academia for Advancing Pharmacy Education’ among academicians, professional scientific leaders, and regulators to set future milestones for education. “Convention addresses the educational and developmental needs to create competent pharmacists and pharmaceutical scientists. It also fosters an innovative environment which will offer a platform for academicians, researchers, scientists and students of pharmacy to adopt a vision to guide future activities of the profession,” he said.
“The three-day convention includes plenary sessions, panel discussions, oral and poster presentations. About 2,000 Pharmacy professionals, students, industrialists, pharmaceutical scientists and pharmaceutical leaders from different States of the country are taking part in this three-day event. More than 16 speakers across the globe will be delivering lectures,” he added.
The inaugural function will be held on Sept. 2 at 3 pm at Sri Rajendra Auditorium, JSS Medical College in city. Health and Family Welfare and Medical Education Minister Dr. K. Sudhakar will inaugurate. Indian Pharmaceutical Alliance (IPA) General Secretary Sudarshan Jain will release the souvenir and deliver keynote address. APTI President Dr. Milind Janrao Umekar will preside.
JSS Mahavidyapeetha Executive Secretary Dr. C.G. Betsurmath, Pharmacy Council of India President Dr. Montu Patel, JSS Mahavidyapeetha Secretary S.P. Manjunath, JSS AHER, Pro-Chancellor Dr. B. Suresh, Vice-Chancellor Dr. Surinder Singh, Ministry of HRD, Chief Innovation Officer Dr. Abhay Jere, APTI Secretary Dr. Raman Dang and others will be present.
JSS AHER Deputy Registrar M.S. Kokila, staff Dr. B.R. Prashanth Kumar and Dr. Bala Muralidhar were present at the press meet.
