Mysuru: Students and staff of Community College of Philadelphia, USA, visited JSS Ayurveda Medical College and Hospital in city recently to gain insights on Ayurveda and its various modalities.
Dr. Sarbeswar Kar, Principal & Medical Superintendent, appraised about the College and Hospital, legacy of Suttur Mutt and also gave introduction about Ayurveda.
Dr. B.G. Madhusudan, Associate Professor, spoke on Integration and Globalisation of Ayurveda. Dr. K.B. Vaisakh, Assistant Professor, discussed on the principles of Internal Medications and Therapeutic modalities in Ayurveda, which was followed by a talk by Dr. S.D. Manasa, Assistant Professor on Panchakarma Therapies in Ayurveda.
Then Philadelphia College students were taken to Panchakarma therapy facility where they were given demonstration on various Panchakarma therapies routinely followed in the Hospital. They later visited the Herbal Garden where they visualised various herbs used in Ayurveda and were appraised about the importance of food items to be used in daily routine and their uses. During their visit, they showed keen interest to get to know about the rich Indian culture heritage and Ayurveda.
The students thanked the college for hosting and enriching them with Ayurveda knowledge.
