Pick-pocket caught in city

Mysore/Mysuru: A pick-pocket was caught, while another managed to escape, after the duo was found to pick the pocket of a bus passenger of Rs. 20,000 in the city on Dec. 14.

The arrested pick-pocket has been identified as Shahbaaz, a city resident.

S. Johnson of Hundimala village in Hunsur taluk was waiting  at Ramaswamy Circle to board a bus to Hootagalli on the morning of Dec. 14. As he stood waiting, two persons stole his purse  from his pocket, that contained Rs. 20,000 and tried to flee from the spot, when Johnson and other members of the public succeeded in catching one of the duo, who was on the run.

During enquiry, the pick-pocket revealed his name as Shahbaaz, who was later taken to Lakshmipuram Police Station by the public. The Lakshmipuram Police, who have registered a case in this regard, are on the lookout for the other pick-pocket, who managed to escape.
