May 15, 2019

Mandya: Pickpockets have made away with Rs.1 lakh of a devotee who was waiting in line to have darshan of Kalabhairava at a Temple in Adichunchanagiri Srikshetra in Nagamangala taluk on Sunday.

The devotee, who lost his money is Manjunath, a resident of Tiger Block in H.D. Kote taluk.

On Sunday morning, Manjunath, who had come to Adichunchanagiri to attend the naming ceremony of his relative’s child, was standing in the line for darshan of God Kalabhairaveshvara when the pickpockets lifted Rs.1 lakh cash kept in his pocket.

Manjunath, who came to know about the theft, immediately informed a Swamiji, who was present there and also wrote the complaint in the Temple’s complaint book. When Manunath and Temple authorities examined the CCTV footages of cameras installed in the Temple, they saw the pickpockets lifting the money from Manjunath’s pocket.

Manjunath has lodged a complaint at Bellur Police Station in this regard.
