Mysore/Mysuru: Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) Commissioner Gurudutta Hegde has recommended planting of strong trunk trees like gulmarg or gul mohur, spathodea, pichkiya, copper-pod, subabul, Singapore cherry, muntingia, neem, syzygium cumini, aegle marmelos, phyllanthus emblica, syzygium jambos, tamarind and saraca asoca trees in the city.

He has appealed to volunteers, NGOs and citizens, who plant saplings of trees by the road side, in parks and graveyard, under the jurisdiction of MCC, to consider his suggestion in the wake of complaints on uprooting of trees, following heavy rain, accompanied by winds.
