Play ‘Nee naanaadre naa neenena’

Spashta troupe from Bengaluru will enact a Kannada play ‘Nee naanaadre naa neenena,’ an adaptation of William Shakespeare’s popular play ‘Comedy of errors,’ on May 1 at the Mini Theatre in Kalamandira premises here.

Disclosing this at a press meet at Pathrakartara Bhavan here yesterday, the play Director Gaganprasad said that the play would be staged at 3 pm and 7 pm (two shows). He further said that the play includes double-acting said to be a very tough proposition in theatre. He revealed that the play is hilarious portraying the position of a person imagining in someone else’s shoes. Continuing, Gaganprasad said that an effort has been made to take the audience way back to 1980 which will be intriguing for today’s youngsters. He added that S. Surendranath has translated the English script to Kannada. The poster of the play was released on the occasion. Nishant, Deepak Bhat, Chetan, Shilpa, Rakesh and Yogish of the troupe were present during the press meet.
