Plea to honour minority community members

Mysuru: Mirza Jamsheed Baig Ashrafi, Press Secretary of Mysuru District Congress Committee, has urged the State Government to honour the following persons on Kannada Rajyotsava and Tipu Jayanti for their contributions to the society.

Afsar Pasha, Mohammad Rehamathulla and Khaiser Safdar (journalists), Arif Mehkri, Chairman, Mysuru Dist. Wakf Board Advisory Committee, Syed Ishaq, daily wager who is running a free public library on a footpath at Rajivnagar since 10 years and Ayub Ahmed, a resident of Rajendranagar, a Messiah who cremates unclaimed bodies according to their religious beliefs.

In a letter to Mysuru District Minister Dr. H.C. Mahadevappa, Primary and Secondary Education Minister Tanveer Sait, Kannada and Culture Minister Umashree and Deputy Commissioner D. Randeep, he has stated that the above mentioned persons have contributed significantly to the society.
