Mysuru: Marking World Plumbers Day, over 100 members of Sir M. Visveswaraya Plumbing & Sanitary Labour’s Welfare Union took out a rally in city yesterday morning to create awareness among people on the importance of rainwater harvesting.

The rally commenced from Institution of Engineers-India (IEI), Mysuru Local Centre, on JLB Road and passed through Ramaswamy Circle, Vinoba Road, Devaraja Urs Road and back to the starting point.

At the stage programme held in the premises of IEI, Rajyotsava awardee and plumber from Malavalli taluk, Kamegowda and Rainwater Harvesting Expert Ramesh were felicitated by the Union. MLA L. Nagendra, Mayor Pushpalatha Jagannath, Corporator M. Shivakumar, Association President N. Chandru and others were present.
