Bengaluru: Prime Minister Narendra Modi after winning the Gujarat elections for the fifth time in a row is now focusing all his energies on Karnataka to wrest power from the ruling Congress party by planning to announce a special package to the State.
He is likely to announce a special package of thousands of crores for agriculture, water resources and rural development in the 2018-19 Central Budget.
Modi will try to garner votes by keeping the agenda of development (vikas) as the main theme and not only announce the special package but also assure the people that all the projects would be completed in a time-bound manner.
Including the Prime Minister several national leaders will participate in the valedictory function of Parivarthana Rally to be held here on Jan. 28. In this rally Modi would give a glimpse of the gift to Karnataka.
Chief Minister Siddharamaiah has just touted ‘Bhagya’ and completed four-and-a-half years of his rule. The BJP will not talk about ‘Bhagya’ like Anna Bhagya or Ksheera Bhagya and spend its time. Instead, it will chalk out several programmes for the next five years and implement them. All these projects would help the farmers and the poorer sections of the society to help increase their income, is the point that PM Modi will drive home on that day.
Earlier, during the Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Bihar and several other States, the Central Government had announced special packages. Along similar lines, the PM will give rural development package to Karnataka.
On the one hand, Modi will again talk about development and on the other through his political acumen try to hoist the BJP flag once again in South India.
