Police caution public against buying helmets without ISI mark

Mysuru: N.R. Traffic Police yesterday seized 1,220 helmets without ISI mark, which were being sold on footpath in city.

The Police staff, led by ACP (Traffic) K.N. Madaiah and N.R. Traffic Inspector Jayakumar, following a tip off, raided the Church Building Complex on Ashoka Road here and seized 1,220 helmets without ISI mark which were stored to be sold on footpaths.  

City Police Commissioner Dr. A. Subrahmanyeswara Rao has cautioned the public against buying low quality helmets as they do not protect the head and has urged the public to buy only ISI marked helmets.
