Mysore/Mysuru: Police Public School celebrated its Annual Day 2022-23 in three sessions on Dec. 22 and 23 at Karnataka Police Academy (KPA) auditorium in Nazarbad.

The first session covering Pre- KG to class 2 was held on Dec. 22 in which Dr. Shivu from the Department of Paediatrics of Gopala Gowda Shanthaveri Memorial Hospital was the chief guest. He explained to the audience through a powerpoint presentation, the art of keeping small children happy and healthy.

The young buds performed a number of dances enthralling the audience. Annual report was read out by Kindergarten Co-ordinator Sumathy and prizes for students who had performed well during the year were given away by the chief guest.

The second session for classes 3 to 5 was held at the same venue on Dec. 23 at 9.30 am with S. Poovitha, Joint Director, Administrative Training Institute, Mysuru, as the chief guest.

In her speech she explained the role teachers play in moulding the lives of students in their care. Performers for the year were given prizes and the annual report was presented by Vice-Principal Deena Uthappa. The students put up an eye-catching show of both contemporary and modern dances.

The third session was held from 5 pm on the same day and at the same venue. School Principal Rennie Joseph Mendonce in his annual report highlighted some of the top achievements of students both in academics, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.

Special mention was made of Pranathi of class 2, a Wushu exponent, the school boys volleyball team which finished runner up in cluster-level CBSE Volleyball, the achievement in Yoga finishing runner up in an event organised by Kreeda Bharathi, Yoga Rachana Yuha throughout India, the performance of Lekhana in the CBSE cluster-level athletics meet, the performance of Aarbaz and Gehan in NCC National-level firing and the performance of Zaina Begum in Yoga on the world stage among others.

A grand cultural extravaganza followed in the grand finale depicting the relationship between colours and emotions.
