Mysuru: The contributions of most Police personnel often go unrecognised or unnoticed and even their sacrifices fail to draw sympathetic response from the public.
But Mysore Round Table 21 (MRT-21) and Mysore Ladies Circle 9 (MLC-9), recognising and identifying the exemplary service of eight Police personnel serving in various Police Stations across the district and to thank them for protecting us, honoured the Cops by presenting them with ‘Knights in Khaki’ Police Shield at the 45th Annual ‘Knights in Khaki’ award presentation ceremony held in the Summit Hall of Olive Garden at the foot of Chamundi Hill here last evening.
The awards were presented by Mysuru-Kodagu MP Pratap Simha and City Police Commissioner Dr.A. Subramanyeswara Rao.
Constantly under societal scrutiny and hardly ever drawing sympathy or appreciation for their untiring efforts to uphold law and order, these Police personnel are known to be under extreme stress. The Police personnel, who were honoured are: Head Constable R.M. Somashekar of V.V. Puram Police Station, Mysuru, Constable K.C. Gangadhar of Narasimharaja Police Station, Mysuru, Woman Head Constable Nasreen Taj of ACP Office in Devaraja Sub-Division, Mysuru, Constable S.R. Raveesh of Krishnaraja Traffic Police Station, Mysuru, ASI Prabhulingaradhya of Nanjangud Traffic Police Station, Head Constable M. Mahesh of Mysuru South Police Station, Woman Constable Ashwini of Hunsur Rural Police Station and Armed Head Constable Rajkumar of District Armed Reserve (DAR) Police Force.
MRT-21 Secretary Ali Vagh, Zone 13 Chairman Mayur Shah, MLC-9 Chairperson Kehkhashan, office-bearers and family members of the awardees were present at the Shield presentation ceremony.
