Mandya: Following complaints that Mandya JD(S) candidate Nikhil Kumaraswamy had distributed money to party workers during the filing of his nomination papers at Mandya on Mar.25, the Election Commission of India (ECI)-appointed Election Expenditure Observer Madhu Mahajan visited Mandya on Saturday and collected information from officials on money distribution charges.
Madhu Mahajan held a meeting with poll officials at Mandya DC Office on Saturday and collected information from them on the charges against JD(S)-Congress coalition candidate. She also discussed with the District Electoral Officer (DC) and the State Chief Electoral officer Sanjiv Kumar, who had visited Mandya on Saturday.
Madhu Mahajan later visited the chamber where c-vigil officials are working and received inputs from them. She however refused to speak to the media about the purpose of her visit.
