Poll Officer dies on duty

Chitradurga: A woman Poll Officer died while on duty in Challakere taluk of Chitradurga district on Friday.

Voting for the Chitradurga (SC) Lok Sabha Constituency took place along with 13 others in the State yesterday.

Yashodamma (55), a teacher serving at Bommasandra Government Higher Primary School in Challakere, is the deceased.

Yashodamma, who was posted for duty at Hotteppanahalli polling booth in Challakere taluk, complained of severe tiredness due to low BP on Friday morning following which she was rushed in an ambulance to Challakere Hospital. But she had died by then, it is learnt.
