Pollibetta elephant attack victim dies at city hospital

Mysore/Mysuru: An estate worker, who had sustained serious injuries when a wild elephant attacked him when he was working at Maskal Coffee Estate in Pollibetta, Kodagu, recently and admitted to a private hospital in city, has succumbed to injuries at the hospital at about 8.30 am today.

The deceased worker is Bobby (57), a resident of Pollibetta in Kodagu.

Meanwhile, Congress State Spokesperson Sanketh Poovaiah, who visited the hospital in city this morning on instruction from newly elected Virajpet MLA  A.S. Ponnanna, spoke with the family members of the deceased and offered his condolences. Ponnanna too spoke over phone and condoled the death of Bobby. The MLA has instructed the Forest Department officials to take steps to provide compensation immediately and capture the wild elephant.
