Mysuru: Following the poor performance of the district in SSLC exams 2024-25 by Government, Aided and Unaided Schools, the Zilla Panchayat (ZP) has issued a show cause notice to Block Education Officers (BEO), Block Resource Centre (BRC), DDPI now known as Deputy Director of School Education and Literacy Department – Administration and Development, in the district on Tuesday.
ZP CEO S. Ukesh Kumar told Star of Mysore that a circular has been issued citing that, disciplinary action will be recommended to the Government against those officers who fail to provide a convincing reply.
The DDPI has already issued a notice to the Head Masters of 178 schools below 60 percent pass percentage in SSLC exams. This being the home district of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has slipped to 15th position from the previously held 7th position in SSLC results. In this backdrop, speculations are rife among the teachers about failure in the implementation of 50-point programme chalked out by the Education Department to improve the results.
At BEO level too, not many steps were taken to improve the results.
