Mysuru, Mar.8 – Parents and teachers play a big role in the development of a child and hence children should learn to respect them, said Zee TV Sarigamapa fame second runner-up M.R. Sriharsha.
He was speaking as one of the chief guests at the 13th anniversary celebrations of Poorna Prajna Vidya Kendra (run by Nagarika Vedike in Kuvempunagar) at Ganabharathi auditorium here recently. He also entertained the students and audience through his melodious singing.
Kushi, international yoga exponent and brand ambassador, Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan for Mysuru, speaking as another chief guest said that yoga helped a lot to maintain good health. Mysuru had bagged top spot twice earlier in the Swachh Bharat campaign but slipped to the fifth spot recently. However, this time the students and the parents should join hands and see that it regains the top spot she said and read out an oath.
Nagarika Vedike President B. Basavaiah presided. School Committee President Lion J. Lokesh, Secretary Kullegowda and other members were present. Prizes were distributed to students who had excelled in various sports and cultural events. On the occasion, senior members of the Vedike were feted.
