A series of awareness programmes by the District Administration and voluntary organisations on the harmful effects of Ganesha idols made out of Plaster of Paris (PoP) had no impact on the people. The picture shows many Ganesha idols made of PoP floating inside the Virija Canal near Siddalingapura on the Mysuru-Bengaluru Highway.
