Postal region headquarters to be shifted from Bengaluru to Mysuru

October 14, 2026

Mysuru: The headquarters of the South Karnataka Postal Region will be shifted from Bengaluru to Mysuru, with the Union Government giving in-principle approval for the move.

Union Minister for Communications Jyotiraditya M. Scindia informed Mysuru-Kodagu MP Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar of the decision in a letter dated Oct. 7.

The Department of Posts examined the proposal while reviewing its administrative structure and found the relocation justified, the Minister stated in the letter.

The shifting will take place after the necessary formalities are completed, including identifying suitable premises for the regional office. Yaduveer had sought the relocation in a letter to the Union Government on Aug. 7, arguing for bringing the regional headquarters to Mysuru.

The MP’s Office said he would follow up with the authorities to complete the formalities for shifting the office.
