Pourakarmika couple working with Madikeri CMC ends life

September 6, 2018

Madikeri:  A couple, who worked with Madikeri City Municipal Council (CMC) as Pourakarmikas, allegedly committed suicide at Madikeri.

The deceased are identified as Satish (38) and Usha (29), and both hailed from Ambedkar Colony, Ashokapuram in Mysuru City.

They were working with Madikeri CMC as Contract Pourakarmikas for the past eight years and were living at a house behind the Rangamantap at Gandhi Maidan.

The couple, who had gone to Mysuru a few days ago, returned to Madikeri on Sept.2. It is suspected that the two must have committed suicide by consuming poison two days ago and the incident came to light yesterday after the neighbours peeped through the window.

The reason for the couple to take the extreme step is yet to be known. Madikeri Police, who have registered a case in this regard, are investigating.
