March 6, 2023

Mysore/Mysuru: Seeking regularisation of jobs, Pourakarmikas, who were staging protest outside the Main Office of Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) on Sayyaji Rao Road, barged into the Old Council Hall, where the Mayor was holding a meeting this morning and staged a flash protest.

The protesters said that there were about 1,680 Pourakarmikas working in all 65 Wards in city, but now, a temporary list of 170 Pourakarmikas, who have been regularised, has been announced. They alleged that most of them have changed their experience period to show more service period and such persons names have been mentioned in the list. The protesters alleged that their names have been left out though their work experience was more than those whose names have been mentioned in the temporary list.

They urged Mayor Shivakumar, MCC Commissioner G. Lakshmikantha Reddy and MCC officials to cancel the temporary list and regularise the jobs of all Pourakarmikas.
