Power shutdown by CESC troubling consumers

June 8, 2022

Sir,

It is quite disturbing to note that CESC, Mysuru, is resorting to power shutdown during day time for a quite a number of times in many areas of Mysuru city as well as surrounding rural areas (Star of Mysore dated June 2, 3, 4 and 5) with one day prior notice and thereby putting the power consumers, both domestic and industrial, to untold misery.

The hapless consumers can only voice their concerns at the so-called ‘power consumers meet’ convened by CESC now and then in a Zonewise manner.

My friend from Bengaluru and Chennai confided to me over phone that there is no power shutdown there even a single day for maintenance purposes. But in a small city like Mysuru, the public are made to suffer by frequent power outages due to adoption of obsolete power delivery technology by CESC.
