Pranams to Pachyderms at Palace…

The District Administration, led by Legislator M.K. Somashekar, Mayor M.J. Ravikumar, Deputy Commissioner D. Randeep, offered puja to the Dasara elephants yesterday as part of the Ganesha festival. Priest S.V. Prahalad Rao did the ‘Shodashopachara Puja’ to the elephants in front of the Ganapathy Temple at the Balarama-Jayarama Gates, the eastern entrance to the Mysore Palace. The elephants were fed the delicacies like kadabu, modaka, apples, bananas, sugarcane, jaggery, all very dear to Lord Ganesha, the remover of obstacles. Others who participated in the puja included Corporation Commissioner G. Jagadeesha, MUDA Commissioner Dr. M. Mahesh, DCF Yedukondalu, RFO Devaraj, veterinarian Dr. D.N. Nagaraj, ‘Nail Man’ Rangaraju and Arpita Randeep.
