Pratap Simha calls for cooking contractors to organise themselves

October 4, 2017

Mysuru: “Cooking contractors should look towards organising themselves. I will try to give you privileges conferred on us by the Government. For example, Modi Government has given us many privileges like PF, ESI, etc. I shall try to translate such benefits to you considering you as a division of our trade,” said MP Pratap Simha.

He was speaking at the 10th Annual General Body Meeting of Cooking Contractors Association at Brahmasthana Convention Hall here recently. “There seems to be an umbilical cord connecting hotel business with the profession of cooking. I am always with you because we are one. You must also reciprocate this feeling. I am happy that you have built this Association very well during the last nine years. I will also try to get a CA site to you,” he said.

President of Cooking Contractors Association V. Srinivasa Rao said that this Association was built by hard work since the past nine years.

“We have a membership of 800 people and it is growing. We are also wishing to purchase a CA site as grant. Cooking is a difficult job. Hot water, hot oil sometimes falls on our body. We all are from poor background. Last year we have been able to help about 80 people who were in distress. I have been elected as President for the next three years,” he said.

MUDA Chairman D. Dhruvakumar said, “I will try to extend as many benefits as possible. We are with you equally in your times of happiness and troubles. Cooking is a prominent component, which has a good recognition among people. In any meeting or celebration, a good cook is a necessity. If cooking were to stop even for a day it will affect millions of people.”
