Mysuru: MP Pratap Simha, who has been renominated by the BJP, will file his nomination as the party candidate from Mysuru-Kodagu Lok Sabha seat at the DC’s office here at 12.30 pm on Mar. 25 (Monday).

Announcing this at a press meet at Hotel President on B.N. Road here this morning, K.R. BJP MLA S.A. Ramdas said that Pratap Simha will file his nomination after performing puja at Kote Anjaneyaswamy temple at 10 am and will march in a huge rally to the DC office, where he will file his papers at 12.30 pm.

Stating that the Congress candidate will be most likely a former BJP MP, who quit the party to join the Congress last year, Ramdas without naming C.H. Vijayashankar, said that the BJP was certain to win the seat.

Stating that the BJP will seek votes on the performance of Modi Government and National Security issues, Ramdas expressed confidence that the BJP will win the seat by over one lakh votes.

Hitting out at former CM Siddharamaiah for questioning Pratap Simha’s performance as an MP, Ramdas said that the BJP had invited the former CM for a debate on the issue, but there was no response from Siddharamaiah.

BJP Spokesperson and Mysuru-Kodagu LS seat in-charge Dr. Vamanacharya said that Pratap Simha was a strong nationalist with a clean image and it is certain that he would sail through this time as well.

Pointing out that national issues come to the fore in the LS polls, he said that Modi’s popularity was intact and there was no doubt about PM Modi returning to power.

Stating that the BJP will put strategy and technology to full use in the campaign, Dr. Vamanacharya said the BJP was already in the forefront of the campaign, even as the JD(S)-Congress coalition is yet to finalise candidates.

He further said that the coalition will be a boost to the BJP, as all anti-Congress votes will consolidate with the BJP.

MLA L. Nagendra said that thousands of party workers from Mysuru and Kodagu will take part in Monday’s rally.

Maintaining that the party has a strong base in Kodagu and Mysuru city, Nagendra said that Pratap Simha’s victory was certain as he had brought funds to the tune of thousands of crores of rupees for the overall development of the Constituency.
