Mysuru: Following directions from the Government of India, Social Welfare Department, Nazarbad, has revised pre-matric student scholarship with effect from Apr.2, 2018. As per the revision, hostellers (3rd to 10th std.) will get a monthly scholarship of Rs.700 (Rs. 700 x 10 months = Rs. 7,000) and adhoc annual  grant of Rs. 1,000 (total Rs. 8,000) while day scholars (1st to 10th std.) will get a monthly scholarship of Rs. 225 (Rs. 225 x 10 months = Rs. 2,250) and Adhoc grant of Rs. 750 (total Rs. 3,000).

Children of parents from all castes who are engaged in manual scavenging  as defined under Section 2(1) (g) of Manual Scavengers Act, 2013, Tanners and Flayers, waste pickers and persons engaged in hazardous cleaning jobs as defined in Section 2(1) (d) of Manual Scavengers Act, 2013 are eligible to apply for scholarship on: ssp.karnataka.gov.in before Oct.31 [Ph: 0821- 2520910].
