Mysuru: Premakumari, a former Second Division Assistant (SDA) with the State Government, who had claimed that former Minister S.A. Ramdas had married her secretly, has joined the newly-floated Indian New Congress Party (INCP).

Addressing a press meet at Pathrakartara Bhavan here yesterday, Premakumari said that she had begun her political career now and she would contest from any of the Assembly segments in the city in the forthcoming polls.

Explaining her decision to join politics, she said that she would work for the poor, downtrodden and harassed women.

Even as Premakumari was addressing the press meet, INCP President Ayub Khan welcomed her to the party by garlanding her.
