Basavaraju, a resident of Srirampura in the city has been appointed as the President of Sri Lakshmi Venkataramana-swamy Temple Staff and Workers Association. The famed temple is located on KRS Road in Vontikoppal (V.V. Mohalla). Basavaraju had earlier served as a KSRTC Staff and Workers Union leader at Mysuru, fighting for the cause and rights of workers, according to a press release.
