Priest killed in hit-and-run accident at Badanavalu

Nanjangud: In a tragic incident, a 60-year-old Priest was fatally knocked down by an unidentified vehicle on Chamarajanagar Main Road near Badanavalu in Nanjangud taluk on Friday early morning.

The deceased has been identified as Guddappa, a native of Tamil Nadu, who was the Priest at Chamundi Devi Temple near Badanavalu village. It is learnt that Guddappa used to take bath at a pond opposite to the temple on the other side of the road before performing puja. The Police suspected that the unidentified vehicle may have knocked down Guddappa fatally when he was crossing the road.

Nanjangud Traffic Police have registered a case in this regard.
