Principles of Basavanna can eradicate social inequality

Mysuru:  Basaveshwara Seva Samithi had organised a function as part of Basava Jayanti at Ramakrishna Vidyakendra in Ramakrishnanagar here yesterday.

Launching the programme by offering floral tributes to a portrait of Basavanna, Sri Parashivamurthy Swamiji of Mahantheshwar Mutt, Baradanapura, opined that principles of Basavanna should be implemented in society to remove social inequality.

He recalled that Basavanna had opposed casteism way back in 12th century.

M.C. Prabhamani, Head, Shivasri Veerashaiva Girls Hostel, K.R.  Mohalla, was felicitated on the occasion. Sri Trinetra Mahanta Shivayogi Swamiji of Bebi Mutt graced the occasion. Samthi President H.N. Lokeshappa, Ramakrishna Vidyakendra’s M. Papegowda and JSS Women’s College Professor Dr. S.P. Umadevi were present.
