Bengaluru: Minister for Health and Medical Education Dr. K. Sudhakar on Thursday said that Private Medical College Hospitals have reserved 6,034 beds for Covid-19 patients, and 1,135 more beds will be available shortly across the State.
Addressing a meeting with Private Medical College Hospitals here, he said except mother and child care hospitals and non covid-19 hospitals, more than 75 percent of the beds have been taken over by the Government for positive patients.
”The State Government is in touch with the Centre on the vaccination front. At present, we have five lakh vaccines in stock. The State has crossed one crore vaccinations as on Wednesday,” he said.
The State has demanded two crore vaccine shots and the same is expected to reach here by May 15, he claimed.
Special incentives
The meeting also decided to give special incentives to final year MBBS and nursing students who will be treating Coronavirus patients.
Besides, the Government also decided to pay risk incentives to Health Department officials who are working in the pandemic.
Minister for Revenue R. Ashok and Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai participated in the meeting.
